Meet Janet Eileen Simpson
Relationship Educator | Mentor | Groovy Gran | Podcast Host
Janet is an experienced professional with a diverse background in education, counselling and holistic practices. She spent 20 years as a primary education teacher with experience in every age group of children between 4 to 11 years. Janet served as a curriculum lead for IT and Global Citizenship. She represented the British Council in a life-changing teaching trip to Peru and published resource books to support Global Citizenship education.
Her love for citizenship, nature and animals has been a theme all the way through her career. Janet introduced Philosophy 4 Children (P4C) into school as a pioneering move to explore local, national and global issues in a classroom context. She was an active leader of various projects that brought different communities and abilities together, including a term of work that culminated in a Carnival for 450 pupils with participation from local community members across the North West of England where art, costumes and props were created out of recycled materials. Memorable way beyond the project.
Janet has worked in counselling and psychotherapy for 10 years within various settings – schools, a local hospice, Alder Hey Children’s Hospital and in her private practice. She has a range of clinical experiences with children, adults, and couples. Janet has specialised as a Relationship Therapist since 2019, with expertise in psychosexual issues, including sex addiction and porn compulsivity.
​​​Adopted at birth, the full extent to how this had shaped Janet's life not evident until entering into a new relationship at 50, one being inherited sexual shame. A proclaimed Sexual Mute until 50, now a sex talk enthusiast after her experiences with a partner of a sex addict and compulsive porn user.
Janet’s work is now dedicated to helping people create conscious relationships and encouraging professionals to develop Sex Talk Competency. She believes it is essential to support children and vulnerable adults with open, honest conversations whilst raising awareness of the impact of pornography being essential for safeguarding.

Janet is also a Magnetic Mind Coach, Reiki Master, and Family Constellation Facilitator which has developed her knowledge and understanding of the impact of intergenerational trauma, fundamental human energy dynamics and love flow blocks in the family system.
Janet is podcast host for TABOO 2 Talked About *Get curious with the cringe*. Inspiring intimate family & professional communication around taboo topics using her own developed Relationship Education.
She is just venturing into creating on You Tube with her Heart Equation Relationship channel and Nanna Jan THE Groovy Gran channel which is focused on creating Emotional and Relational Education for children – presenting essential aspects of the curriculum that are not addressed in school. Janet takes her mission seriously and this is a playful way to show her fun, spontaneous nature.
